Ronson

RONSON is a globally recognized brand and has been a pioneer in fire-making products for over a century. Few people know that it originally started as a metalworks company: Ronson Art Metal Works. The brand was founded by Louis V. Aronson in 1886 in New Jersey, USA. The first lighter, as such, dates back to 1913 with the Wonderliter model. Its mechanism consisted of a metal arm (wick) with a gasoline-soaked wick at the top. When the arm was rubbed against a ferrocerium strip, it produced sparks that ignited the flame. Global expansion began in 1929 with the construction of a plant in Canada, followed by another in the United Kingdom a year later. By 1957, the company was producing 15,000 units per day, with 11,000 employees working in 17 plants worldwide. In 1956, the brand officially became Ronson, and a flame was added to the logo—this was because that year, the Olympic torch flame was lit using a Ronson lighter. Today, Ronson remains a globally recognized brand, continuing to innovate with a wide variety of designs and products. The company offers refillable and disposable pocket lighters, multi-purpose lighters, rolling papers, and fuel for refilling its products.
